Privacy Policy
Nightfall Sleep · Effective November 1, 2026 · First version
ODDTABLE (the "Operator") operates Nightfall Sleep (the "App"), a sleep sound app, and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and related laws. This policy describes plainly how the App handles your information. If the Korean and English versions differ, the Korean version prevails.
1. Personal information the Operator processes
The App has no sign-up or login, and the Operator runs no server. The App does not ask for your name, contacts, location, photos, or microphone.
The Operator receives personal information in only one case: when you email us to report an ad or ask a question.
| Items | Sender's email address, message content, and any file you attach (such as the diagnostic log) |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Answering questions and handling ad reports |
| Legal basis | Personal Information Protection Act, Article 15(1)(4) (carrying out measures you request) - processed without separate consent |
| Retention | Deleted 6 months after the matter is closed |
| Destruction | Permanently deleted from the mailbox (section 7) |
2. Information stored only on your device
The following stays on your device and is never sent to the Operator. It is deleted when you delete the App.
| Item | Used for |
|---|---|
| Whether you have seen the first-run guide | Not showing the guide again |
| Last settings for each theme (sounds on, intensity, base volume) | Opening the theme the way you left it |
| My Mixes (name, theme, sounds, intensity, volume) | Playing a saved mix again |
| Last timer choice | Default for the next timer |
| Display and effect settings | Effects off, flashes off, and similar |
| Whether you bought "Remove Ads" | Not showing ads if you did (the App re-checks this against your App Store or Google Play purchase record) |
This information is included in your operating system's device backup (iCloud Backup or Google backup). Backups are made by the operating system under your account; the Operator cannot see them.
3. Diagnostic log (on device, never sent)
To check that playback does not stop, the App writes the following to a file on your device once a minute while playing: total playback time and volume for each sound layer, loudness for that minute, time elapsed since playback started, and battery level, plus the elapsed time of events such as timer start and stop.
- It does not record the clock time, device identifiers, advertising ID, location, or any account.
- Only the last 7 sessions are kept; older ones are deleted. The log is excluded from device backups.
- It is never sent automatically. It leaves your device only if you tap "Share" in Settings, after the App shows you its contents, to the place you choose. If you email it to the Operator, it is handled as described in section 1.
4. Automatic collection by the advertising SDK, and how to refuse it
The App shows banner ads on the Home and My Mixes screens (never on the playback screen). Ads are served by Google LLC's Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). The SDK sends the information below directly from your device to Google, and Google processes it as an independent controller. The Operator does not receive or store it. The information is transferred abroad, including to the United States. The items follow Google's published documentation (encrypted in transit with TLS).
If you buy "Remove Ads" in the App, it removes the ad on screen right away and requests no new ads. The advertising SDK that has already started may stay loaded until you close the App; from the next launch it is not started, so the SDK sends none of the information below and the App does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If the App cannot confirm your purchase (for example, offline right after reinstalling), ads may still appear.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| IP address | Estimating general location |
| Ad activity (behavioral information) | App launches, ad views, and taps |
| Diagnostics | App launch time, hang rate, energy use, and other SDK performance data |
| Device identifiers | Advertising ID (Android advertising ID; iOS IDFA only if you allow tracking) and app set ID |
| Android Privacy Sandbox | Interest topics determined on the device (Topics) and ad measurement information (Attribution Reporting) |
- Recipient: Google LLC (United States). Contact: googlekrsupport@google.com, Additional privacy information for residents of Korea
- Country, timing, method: the United States and other countries where Google processes data; each time an ad is loaded; over the internet
- Purpose: serving ads, personalized ads, measuring ad performance, and preventing fraud
- Retention: according to Google's policies - Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- How to refuse and what happens: see section 5.
5. How to opt out of personalized ads
- iPhone and iPad: decline in the "Allow app to track" prompt shown on first launch, or change it later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Android: delete or reset your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy (or Google) > Ads, and turn off ad topics and ad measurement in the Ads privacy menu.
- If you opt out, personalized ads based on the advertising ID are turned off. The IP address and app set ID are still sent to Google to serve ads and prevent fraud. Every feature of the App still works, and you will see non-personalized ads.
- The App does not ask for or check users' ages, so it does not show different ads depending on whether a user is a child. Parents and guardians can turn off personalized ads on a child's device as described above.
6. Outsourcing, overseas transfer, and provision to third parties
Provision to third parties: none. The Operator does not provide your personal information to anyone. The advertising information in section 4 is not provided by the Operator; the SDK sends it directly from your device to Google.
Payment for "Remove Ads" is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under your account. The Operator does not receive your name, payment method, or card details; the App only asks the store whether you have made the purchase. Payment information is handled under each store's privacy policy.
Report and contact emails are stored in Gmail, and are therefore transferred abroad as follows.
| Items | Sender's email address, message content, and attached files |
|---|---|
| Country | The United States and other countries where Google processes data |
| Timing, method | When you send the email; over the internet |
| Recipient | Google LLC (Gmail), googlekrsupport@google.com |
| Purpose, retention | Storing the email; 6 months after the matter is closed |
| How to refuse, effect | If you do not send an email, nothing is transferred. We simply cannot receive your report or question by email; your use of the App is not affected. |
This policy page is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). When you open it, access logs (such as your IP address) may be kept for security and troubleshooting for Cloudflare's standard retention period. The Operator does not use them to identify anyone.
7. Destruction of personal information
- Procedure: once the retention period in section 1 (6 months after the matter is closed) ends, the email is destroyed without delay. It is destroyed earlier if you ask.
- Method: the email and its attachments are deleted from the mailbox and from the trash so they cannot be recovered.
- On-device information (sections 2 and 3) is deleted when you clear it in the App or delete the App.
8. Security measures
- The Operator runs no server, and the App has no way to send information to the Operator.
- Two-step verification is turned on for the report and contact email account.
- Emails past their retention period are destroyed (section 7).
- The diagnostic log never leaves the device automatically and is excluded from device backups.
9. Your rights and how to exercise them
- You may ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information the Operator holds about you (the emails in section 1), or ask us to stop processing it. Email us at the address below and we will reply within 10 days.
- A legal guardian may exercise these rights on behalf of a child under 14.
- You can delete on-device information (sections 2 and 3) yourself in the App. Advertising information can be managed as described in section 5 and in Google's settings.
- If you believe your rights have been infringed, you can contact the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (www.kopico.go.kr, +82 1833-6972) or the Personal Information Infringement Report Center run by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (privacy.kisa.or.kr, 118 within Korea).
10. Children under 14
The App is a general-audience app not directed at children, and it does not ask for or check users' ages. The Operator does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If we learn that we received such information without a legal guardian's consent, for example by email, we delete it without delay. For personalized ads, see section 5.
11. Reporting ads
If you see an inappropriate or age-inappropriate ad, please tell us at oddtables@gmail.com. Your email is handled as described in section 1.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy is revised, we will post a notice on this page 7 days before the change takes effect (30 days for changes that significantly affect your rights). Previous versions will remain available from this page.
13. Privacy contact
Privacy matters and related complaints are handled by the contact below (Personal Information Protection Act, Article 30(1)(6)).
